Who we are

---

Cohortēs Praetoriae (Koh-HOR-ts Pray-TOR-ee-eye) exists to strengthen Australia’s national, state and corporate security interests through professional, disciplined and sovereign Australian-owned security services.

We deliver discreet executive protection, close personal protection, security risk analysis and security consulting of the highest standard to both public and private sector clients. In doing so we create meaningful career pathways for Australian veterans of defence, law enforcement and emergency services (including Ambulance, Medical, Emergency Response Teams, and Fire & Rescue), and we reinvest in Australian-owned defence and security technologies — providing a practical testing and R&D platform that contributes to the nation’s long-term capability.

By working across government and industry, we act as a trusted conduit between the public and private sectors. This dual focus enables us to support national security objectives while helping organisations protect the people, assets and operations that underpin Australia’s economic strength and sovereignty.

Our purpose is to contribute to Australia’s sovereignty by safeguarding the interests of both the nation and the businesses that help build it.

The people of Cohortēs Praetoriae are drawn from the training grounds of Australian Defence Force and law enforcement. Many also bring experience from emergency services, including Ambulance, Medical, Emergency Response Teams, and Fire & Rescue.

This background is not incidental — it is foundational. Years of operational service have instilled the discipline, situational awareness, decision-making under pressure, and quiet professionalism that define our work. These qualities allow us to deliver discreet executive protection, close personal protection, security risk analysis and consulting to the exacting standards required by both public and private sector clients.

Our heritage directly supports the Mission of Cohortēs Praetoriae. The same standards of service and accountability developed in Defence, policing and emergency response are applied every day to strengthen Australia’s national, state and corporate security interests. By creating meaningful career pathways for veterans of these services, we retain hard-won skills within the national capability while building a trusted conduit between government and industry.

In short, our people do not simply work in security — they carry forward a proven operational culture that underpins Australia’s sovereignty and the protection of the organisations that help build it.

Cohortēs Praetoriae envisions an Australia that fully recognises and develops the strength already present within its own defence, law enforcement and security capability — a strength that is often underestimated.

We see a future in which Australian operational experience, ingenuity and disciplined professionalism are properly valued and applied. From this foundation of greater self-reliance and independence, Australia will be better placed to protect its own interests and to engage constructively with international partners through the genuine exchange of ideas and the practical meeting of minds.

Our work is directed toward a country that no longer undervalues its own capacity, but instead builds confidently on what it already has — advancing and developing its homegrown technologies and contributing to national and international security from a position of genuine sovereignty.
